The sixth stage of the Eco Africa Race 2026 brought fourth place in the SSV category for Slovaks Martin Benko and Marek Sýkora.
Yesterday’s day off at the Eco Africa Race 2026 helped the participants gain new strength, the vehicles underwent inspection and necessary repairs, and after an evening barbecue prepared by the organizers, the competitors jumped into the sixth stage of the competition today. It took them from Dakhba, Morocco, to Chami, Mauritania. Slovak Norwit Racing and its racing crew Martin Benko and Marek Sýkora brought the Taurus T3 Max to fourth place in the SSV category in the sixth stage.
“Today’s stage initially involved a more than four hundred and thirty kilometer ride. The track led around the ocean and I must say that it was really cold for us on it. Then we stood for more than one and a half hours waiting for the start of the timed section, which measured only one hundred and fifty-two kilometers and was very fast, always at full throttle. We have four very important stages ahead of us that will be very difficult in terms of navigation and also technically. We are very much looking forward to them, it is our home ground, so keep your fingers crossed that we do well in them,” said Martin Benko.
The seventh stage of the competition, in this case located entirely in Mauritania, will be a little different for all participants of the Eco Africa Race 2026 than the previous ones. Its track will not have a timed section and only a timed section is planned. It will measure a total of four hundred and sixty-two kilometers. We will talk again after it ends how it will turn out for the crew of the Slovak Norwit Racing.
