The tenth stage brought bronze for the Norwit Racing Team

Martin Benko together with Marek Sýkor managed the very important last Mauritanian stage more or less without any problems. At the finish line, they took bronze among the SSVs.

At the same time, with this very important result, they also consolidated their second position in the SSV category standings. Although the stage was not easy and there were several pitfalls waiting for the competitors, the Slovak crew, together with the Taurus T3 Max buggy, managed everything.

“A beautiful stage, not easy, but very pleasant with sandy roads and a few dunes. It was very nice. After about four kilometers we discovered that the front hood was not closed properly, but it held and so we continued, but at the tenth kilometer it opened and blocked our view behind the cars, so we fixed it for a while and got it back. We were a little careful with the rear differential, which was overheating a little, but we were driving well and there were some smaller dunes, which we really enjoyed in places. After the refueling, there were beautiful long plains, which we really liked. It was nice and we are just knocking on wood and hoping that it will last until the finish,” said Martin Benko today, after the tenth stage.

Tomorrow, the eleventh, penultimate stage awaits the participants of the Eco Africa Race 2026. It will run from Quad Naga, Mauritania, to Mpal, Somalia, and will be 475 kilometers long, including a 131-kilometer measured section.
